My Life as a Book

Summer's finally here, and Derek Fallon is looking forward to pelting the UPS truck with water balloons, climbing onto the garage roof, and conducting silly investigations. But when his parents decide to send him to Learning Camp, Derek's dreams of fun come to an end. Ever since he's been labelled a "reluctant reader," his mom has pushed him to read "real" books-something other than his beloved Calvin & Hobbes.

Ugly

Robert Hoge was born with a giant tumour on his forehead, severely distorted facial features and legs that were twisted and useless. His mother refused to look at her son, let alone bring him home. But home he went, to a life that, against the odds, was filled with joy, optimism and boyhood naughtiness.

Home for the Hoges was a bayside suburb of Brisbane. Robert's parents, Mary and Vince, knew that his life would be difficult, but they were determined to give him a typical Australian childhood. So along with the regular, gruelling and often dangerous operations that made medical history and gradually improved Robert's life, there were bad haircuts, visits to the local pool, school camps and dreams of summer sports.

Snail and Turtle Rainy Days

It’s a rainy day and Snail doesn’t feel like coming out of his shell. So Turtle waits patiently and creates a beautiful shelter for his friend.

Teacup

A boy must leave his home and find another. He brings with him a teacup full of earth from the place where he grew up, and sets off to sea. Sad the Dog

A clever little dog christens himself "Sad" when his humans fail to give him a name. Although they feed him and wash him, they don’t appreciate his many gifts, like his love of singing ("stop that yapping!"). When the people move away and leave Sad behind, Sad is heartbroken. But then a new family with a young boy arrives at Sad’s house in a big truck. Although Sad is initially frightened, it soon becomes clear that the boy is just the right person to make a dog’s life complete with playtime, treats, and a brand-new name: Lucky.

Hot Air

The earth is warming up. The polar bear has turned green, the dingo's gone doolally, and the wolf is floating on an island mid-ocean. The animals know something is very wrong, but what exactly? After much bleating, the dolphins are dispatched as envoys to find and investigate the root cause of the problem. Farting cows, of course! They are responsible for the environmental meltdown. But with a lot of gas being spouted in all directions, can the animals find and agree on a solution to the cow problem in time to save the earth?
