How to Hide a Lion at School

Image result for how to hide a lion at school

How does a very small girl hide a very large lion? It's not easy, but Iris has to do her best, because mums and dads can be funny about having a lion in the house. Luckily, there are lots of good places to hide a lion - behind the shower curtain, in your bed, and even up a tree. But Iris can't hide her lion forever, and when her mum discovers him, he has to run away and hide all on his own. When the lion sees three robbers stealing from the town hall, it's his chance to show everyone that he is, after all, a kind (and very brave) lion - just like Iris always said.

50 Things you should know about The Human Body

The human body is complicated and incredible! The many parts of the body form a network of systems that work together to keep you alive and active. Each chapter focuses on a different system: Outer Body, Nervous System, Skeleton and Muscles, Breathing System, Heart and Blood, Digestive System, Urinary System, Growing and Changing. Body maps are included to show how organs and systems all function together. The mechanics of the human body are described in concise and easy-to understand text while infographics and photographs bring the various systems to life. Fact panels provide fascinating snippets of extra information.

Saroo Brierley was born in an Indian town called Khandwa. In 1986, aged only 5, he lost all contact with his family when he was at a train station waiting for his brother who never returned.
After living on the streets of Calcutta for 3 weeks by himself, he then was placed into a local orphanage where an Australian family adopted Saroo. He then grew up with his newly adopted parents in Hobart, Tasmania where he spent the next 25 years.
After years trying to track down his old town through the labyrinth of railways lines on Google Earth and an image etched into his brain as a 5 year old, he finally found his town Khandwa on the map and travelled to India to try and find members of his family. In early 2012, after 25 years of separation, he finally reunited with his mother.

Kettle

Image result for from the cutting room of barney kettle

Barney Kettle knew he would be a very famous film director one day, he just didn't know when that day would arrive. He was already an actual director – he'd made four fifteen-minute films – but so far only his schoolmates and the residents of the High Street had viewed them. Global fame was a little way off. It would come, though. Barney was certain about that ...

So begins the manuscript written from the hospital bed of an unnamed man.
