My Two Blankets

Cartwheel has moved to a place that is so strange to her, she no longer feels like herself. This is a story about new ways of speaking, new ways of living, new ways of being.

  1. I read this book with my class and it made me think about what a child feels when they visit another country. I never thought about that before. It has opened my eyes to see my world with a view from someone else. This is a really good book to read if you want to understand how changing countries can feel, or just enjoy a good book.

  2. This book made me look at my world through the eyes of a foreigner. It has made me realize how scary changes can be and how just a smile can change things for the better. This is a really good book for anyone who has moved and had a huge change, or for anyone that is just looking for a good and quick read.

  3. this book made me realize the feelings that would have run through a foreign person coming to a new country. the thought of the blanket was nice and as she learned more about the English language her blanket grew bigger and warmer. highly recommend to anyone wanting to read a Sophisticated picture book. -Lachlan

  4. When I read this book with my class, it made me understand what it was like to come from another country and adapt to new ways of speaking, living and being. By only using up to 3 short sentences on each page, this book has depth. It contains messages that made me stop and think. It's a great book to read if you have been in the same position. I loved the pictures; they were well illustrated.

  6. I think this book is my favourite sophisticated picture book because it helps me to understand what a Foreign child will feel like in a new country with a new language.
I think it would be great for foreign children to read so that it will give them strength in their new country, and more confidence

  7. This book really interests readers how other people can feel than they move into a new school, city or county. My two blankets tells about how two cultures link together and make one kind. Once you read this book you would want to read it again!

  8. When I first saw this book, it didn't seem to interest me that much as other books do. But when I read it with my friends it gave me a lot of insight of how foreign people feel when they come to a new country.
